About NIS

ENABLING CONNECTED BUSINESS AND EFFICIENCY THROUGH INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY

Our history started in 1996, when three highly innovative friends set out with a mission – to redefine the travel insurance industry through technology. Together with a small, ambitious team of software developers, the founders designed one of the first interactive travel insurance applications utilizing state-of-the-art technology. Over the next 20 years, we continued to grow and innovate, continuously improving our software platforms based on industry trends, customer needs, and dedication to our mission.

Today, we are a global provider of end-to-end software solutions with installations in more than 40 countries across the globe. We have a full suite of solutions that can be fitted to insurance companies of all sizes and a very determined team of people that will always do their utmost to tailor a solution that is just right for our customers and their specific needs.

We have grown from being a company of three people to employing more than 65 staff in 4 locations. Our headquarters remain in Copenhagen and we have implementation teams in London and Toronto and a development and test team in Wroclaw, Poland.

Meet the Team

Casper Søgaard-Hansen

Chief Executive Officer

Casper joined NIS in 2011 and developed NIS' consultancy department along with Sammi Gram. Over the years Casper has held a variety of roles including Head of Consultancy and, most recently, being responsible for the Nordic platform development as a member of the Senior Management group. In October 2021, he entered the role as CEO with the purpose of evolving the product and the organization further. Casper has a master’s degree in IT Management and Business Economics from Copenhagen Business School.

Elliott Draga

Chief Commercial Officer

Elliott joined NIS in 2012, and has led NIS' sales operations since 2017. Elliott has driven NIS' expansion into several new market segments, including establishing operations in North America, Asia and the Pacific region, and building out NIS' SaaS infrastructure to complement their market-leading enterprise platform. Outside of NIS, Elliott holds an MBA from York University in Toronto, Canada and is a member of the Travel Health Insurance Association of Canada.

Sammi Gram

Chief Product Officer

Sammi joined NIS in 2011 and developed NIS' consultancy department along with Casper Søgaard-Hansen. In 2014 Sammi served as the Head of Consultancy and, in 2016 joined NIS' senior management team as the Senior Business Solution Architect. As of October 2021, he will be leading NIS' product development operations as CPO with the purpose of strengthening and developing NIS' offerings. Sammi has a master’s degree in IT Management and Business Economics from Copenhagen Business School

Gyles Brooks

Head of UK Operations and Specialty Lines

Gyles is the Head of UK Operations and Specialty Lines for NIS. Gyles has worked for the Acturis Group for 16 years and has lead NIS’s UK SaaS operations for 7 years, overseeing NIS’s expansion in Pet, Dental, and Employee Benefits insurance sectors. Gyles has a Mathematics and Statistics degree from Imperial College London.
